Clara and her brother lost her parents when they were very young. They live with their rich grandfather in his estate. He can be stern at times, often stubborn. On Christmas Eve before her grandfather's party, she received a wooden nutcracker from her aunt. Later that night after she fell asleep on the couch she encounter a dream that seemed so real and it brought her nutcracker to life! He took her to Parthenia after the battle in the parlor. There they met some friends from the village and some fairies. They were in search of the Sugar Plum Princess, a magical princess who could break all of the Mouse King's magic that he casted upon the kingdom, turning it in darkness. Clara helps her friends along the way. She is a kind, brave and clever girl and with that later transformed into the Sugar Plum Princess! Turns out she was the princess all along. She also broke the nutcracker's spell when she kissed him and he transformed back into the prince. She later met with him when she returned home after waking up. They fell in love and lived happily ever after.
He was transformed into a nutcracker by the Mouse King's magic after I think his father's death. His father left the royal septour to his royal advisors until Eric could prove himself worthy. He never got the chance because the Mouse King's took the septour and turned the prince into a nutcracker. His subjects reveal that the rightful heir to the throne which is Prince Eric, has gone missing in the wake of the Mouse King's attempts to conquer the world, well the kingdom anyway. He tells Clara that he must take responsibility for his past actions. Later on after the battle ended and the Mouse was destoyed, Prince Eric finds out that Clara, after all this time, has been the Sugar Plum Princess! He apologizes to his subjects for his actions and asks them to give him a second chance, which they readily do now that they have seen the kindness, courage, and selflessness he demonstrated as the Nutcracker. He finally became king and took the throne that he rightfully diserved and he and Clara fall in love.
